Ruth Lizotte

Writing Tutor and Coach

About

ruth grdeningI have been an educator all my life. For about thirty-five years, I was an elementary and middle school teacher in districts from Ashland to Silverton, Oregon. After that, I was the administrator of an international school in Costa Rica.

Upon returning from Costa Rica, I taught writing at a community college and did some part time teaching and tutoring with home schoolers in Southern Oregon. I also worked for The National Writing Project at Southern Oregon University as in-service coordinator for writing teachers grades1-12.

Teaching has been my career, my hobby, my creative muse, and my passion, but I am also a published writer and have a daily writing practice.

A couple of years ago I moved to Portland. I have an adult writing practice group in my neighborhood and also volunteer as a facilitator for Write Around Portland http://www.writearound.org.

Aside from this, I enjoy hiking, singing, spending time with my family, volunteering in my grandsons’ classrooms, and gardening. The only thing missing from my life right now is writing students, so I am offering small group instruction or one to one tutoring or coaching. Please see Offerings.
